Scissors Lift Table

Scissor lift mechanisms are manufactured in a vast array of configurations, are easily modified by narrowing, widening, combining or stacking, and can efficiently move loads of any size and capacity to heights of more than 20 feet. Completely pneumatic or mechanical scissors tables are also available. Every lift table is designed and manufactured to meet the industry safety requirements, and can be modified or customized to customer specifications. Choosing Scissor Lift Equipment:
We want to provide a safe, innovative and timely lifting solution that exceeds customer expectations. Customer satisfaction is paramount. It is important that considerations be given to determine which scissor lift is the perfect match for a specific job application.

Travel Requirements
There are three key height considerations to take into account when choosing a lift table: Lowered Height, Vertical Travel, and Raised Height. What is the lowest height required of the lift to descend in order to perform a task? Will the job require ground level operations; will the material load be rolled onto the platform? Will the lift be in a pit? Next, what is the travel distance (vertical travel) required from the lowered height to the finished height? Lastly, what is the finished height or maximum raised height for the application?

Load Capacity
What is the absolute maximum load you will need the scissor lift to raise? If you will have a non-centric load, you will need to consider the Side/End Load which is the amount of static load that can be applied on an edge of the lift platform in the fully raised position. If you will have products being rolled on or off, you will need to consider the Axle Load. This is the impact of rolling a load onto the scissor lift platform through the momentum and impact of wheels which adds force and weight.

Platform Size and Shape
Determing the platform size is also an important factor when choosing the right lift for the specific application. What are the overall dimensions of the largest load that you will ever need the elevating table (platform) to raise? Pre-existing pit dimensions may also determine platform size requirements.

Actuation
The raised or lowered movement of a scissor lift can be operated by hydraulics, mechanical, or pneumatic (air). Some reasons to consider each type are as follows:

Hydraulic Actuation
• Most economical and widely accepted for most project settings.
• Provides regulated torque and force
• High loads
• Compact (smallest form factor)
• Hydraulics are not suited for clean room or hazard environments

Mechanical Actuation
• Extreme position accuracy
• Better solution for environmentally sensitive applications
• However, mechanical lifts can be more expensive and require a larger design footprint

Pneumatic Actuation
• Another good choice for use in many environmentally sensitive applications
• No electrical power or hydraulic oil is required –ideal for explosion proof applications
• More economical solution to power the units using shop air supply rather than electric supplied power
• Spring effect and less consistant speeds can provide a less stable lifting process

Durability
Extra consideration should be taken into account to understand the durablity of a scissor lift and if it will provide you the performance necessary to complete a specific job requirement. Applications requiring high-speed or high-frequency should consider a high cycle scissor lift with enhanced structural design features that are engineered to deliver a longer-lasting performance.
